I don't know if this is really true of all wives or of all deployements. This is our first.
Many people when they hear a little about where I am now and having my husband away for so long, they ask, "How do you do it?" Well the truth is, there are some days when you just don't do it. There are some days where you just miss him too much, the pain of having him gone hurts too bad, you just don't do it. You find whatever you can to keep yourself occupied so that the time that you must be awake passes. And that's all it is, the day just passes, knitting and watching movies, running around town, reading books, anything to keep your mind and heart off of the pain that you would feel other wise. Being productive doesn't really matter, things that should be done or need to be done fall to the way side. You just want to get through the day so that tomorrow may be better, so that one more day is done and you are one more day closer to seeing the one that you love.
Today is one of those days. I missed Greg's call yesterday because I had no signal on my cell phone. Today I missed his call because my phone was on silent. I was sitting right next to it and never saw the call come in. Got up, checked on the dogs, came back, checked my phone. Missed call and voice mail. I miss him, a lot.

Well... Greg WAS online for a period of time. He's also a doof because I told him to call your mom's house because you were more than likely there. :P
