This was my first attempt - I wasn't sure if I had enough yarn to make the "super slouchy" version so I opted just for the "slouchy" version.
It fit okay. But it didn't really have the slouch that I was hoping for. I have a pretty big head, seriously. This fit more like a loose hat. Not quite what I wanted but I really liked the color of the yarn, especially with all the dark hair I have.
I looked at the left over yarn and decided that it had to be enough yarn to go back in and make the super slouchy version. So I pulled out about 1/4 of it and added the extra body today.
I like it much better now and you can't even tell where I had to join the yarn together which is wonderful always! So excited.
I also am coming to the end of Greg's big towel! So exciting. After 4 months of working on it as about the only project that I've done in all my knitting time. I've figured out I have about 2 and 1/2 hours left of work on it! It'll be done before Greg gets home! I can wrap it and really gift it to him while he's home.
I got some new needles that I ordered in the mail today. I am looking forward to using them soon. I finished an old project - a dish towel. After working on Greg's big towel for so long, I can't figure out why on earth I got impatient with the dish towel and set it aside. I think I worked on it for about an hour and it was done.
Now I'm off to either start another new small project or put in some time on the big towel. Working on a project like the beret and having it only take about 4 days even with adjustments and going back and all is like nothing now compared to the time I've put in on that towel.
Oh, I'm also enjoying the unemployed and unattached life at this point. I went on a run today. Because I felt like it, at a time that I wanted to run. Not because I should go or I have to go now or there won't be time later. And while I was out there I was feeling strong so I went longer than I planned on without any regard to what time I would make it back to the apartment and what condition I would be in when I got there. Even when I was unemployed when Greg was home I was hesitant to go on a longer run because I really wanted to be at least in the shower before Greg got home. And I didn't have to worry about any of that today. So much fun.
I'll post a picture of the dish towel that I finished as soon as I get the lose ends of yarn tucked away nice and neat and whatever other project I decide to start or get finished or whatever. Yep, yarn and knitting is kind of my thing right now. Along with preparing the house for Greg to come home for leave.
Oh speaking of that. When he gets home I will likely have tons of pictures to post of his projects. He wants to build shelves and redo our furnace blower/air purifier into a table and whatever else he has in mind that he hasn't shared with me yet! He wants to buy a Milwaukee Circular Saw. So I can only imagine what kind of messes will come with that.
Later!

Oh, GOOD JOB Amanda, very cute on you too, keep up the good work!
Glad to hear you're enjoying your "free time", it's awesome isn't it? Hmmm, but now that you have all that TIME on your hands, don't do anything I wouldn't do, HA! :-)
Blessings,
Judie <><
