Updates

A good run does wonders for the soul. Dragged my butt out of the house. When to the America The Beautiful Park. Did 3 miles. Mostly flat, tried to keep it medium, but alas I live in the hard workouts - I just don't seem to understand moderate or light workouts anymore. I just hope that I don't hurt myself. If we keep having so many nice days, I may just find myself hiking in the mountains. As I was driving to the park I had this hard to resist urge to drive to the turn around and just go up - but then I realized I wasn't even remotely dressed for it, so I stuck with my running plan.

Also I got cocky. I decided that I would start knitting my first pair of socks. The catch is instead of just doing them on double pointed needles, I decided to follow my uncles instructions and do them on two circular needles. Not very easy. I'm going to have to take a picture of this mess later on (once the start of the sock becomes at least recognizable in the twists and turns of the cables of the circular needles. It basically looks to me like one big knot of yarn and knitting needles.... not easy at all. It's all tied together and it feels like it takes me forever to figure out what end each of the needles need to be on and how my yarn got tied around that part there and how do I get it back to where I need it to be. After casting on to start this thing for the third time I had half a mind to say screw it and start on with double pointed needles. But I didn't give in! (I might if I screw something up and have to tear it all back again though.) I've got about a half inch done so far - I know - big news! Haha. But on size 3 needles with just as small yarn - a half inch is a big deal!

I also tied in all the ends on the towel so its officially finished in all aspects of the word. So happy. Now I just have to remember to take pretty pictures of it before I wrap it up for one of Greg's R&R Christmas presents.

Off to fight with the sock some more!
